Burnt wood, also known as Yakisugi or Shou Sugi Ban, is a traditional Japanese technique of charring wood to preserve it and enhance its aesthetic appeal.

The charring process enhances the wood's natural durability and also adds a unique, modern look to any room in your home.

All pieces are turned green, they are then allowed to dry naturally, sanded, fired, sanded again and finally oiled 

These pieces have been allowed to dry at their own pace, enhancing the appearance with subtle movement in their shape, occasional fissures may open and are then fired to add to the rustic beauty.
