A wooden plate or bowl may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of cooking utensils, but they can be quite versatile. You can use them for both hot and cold dishes, and they're perfect for everything from soup to cereal. Plus, they're eco-friendly and look great on your table. Wood actually retains less bacteria than plastic. It has also been proved that as well as not retaining bacteria wood itself is naturally antibacterial. This means it's actually cleaner and safer to use wooden plates than plastic ones.
Caring for your plate or bowl:- After each use, wash it with mild dish soap and warm water and dry immediately. Never leave your bowl to soak or to dry naturally because it can crack and warp. For the same reason, don't leave your bowl in the fridge or full of moist food, and don't even consider putting it in the dishwasher!
The inherent durability of wooden bowls and plates gives them the advantage over china or pottery. Dropping a piece of china dishware will cause it to shatter nearly every time. But with wood, dropping a bowl will likely result in a bounce, leaving it intact and still ready to use.
